Writer's Block: The witching hour

Do you celebrate Halloween? What do you like most and least about this holiday?

When I was a kid, long, long ago, we wore our dad's old shirts and our mom's makeup and went round the neighborhood with paper sacks.  People made popcorn balls, cookies, and other treats to give out.  Everyone knew everyone.  Every year there was a big tall scary guy with a pillow case pretend-looking for kids to grab.  It was slightly scary, fun, and not at all dangerous.  Today, it's a different world, and halloween has become another consumer money sink in a dangerous world.  I don't participate in any way, except maybe for buying marked down chocolate aftewards.
