Thoughts on 'Elementary'

Just watched the trailer.  I really like Jonny Lee Miller, in spite of his bad taste in once marrying Angelina Jolie, and he's been very good in everything I've seen him in.  He looks good in this, too.  I like his Sherlock.  So I plan to watch.  I will, however, have to pretend I can actually stand Lucy Liu, that this is an alternate universe where Sherlock is the only recognizable person from ours.  If I can just get my brain  to stop thinking, "Lucy Liu?  Why on earth.....???" like I had to do when she was in Southland (Great show. Watch it, it's been renewed.), and remind myself that this is not really meant to be 'our' Watson, I think it will be okay.  Here's the link to the trailer:

I can't decide what I think of this! I like Lucy Liu just fine, but I haven't really seen Jonny Lee Miller in much, and his Sherlock seems fine, interesting and intriguing, too... But I just don't know! It still feels like too much, too soon on the heels of BBC and the movies (both of which I really love), so... Yeah, I'm just not sure yet. I sort of wish it wasn't Sherlock Holmes, and was just...a quirky detective story. Because then I wouldn't be thinking about it so much! ;)

I agree, so I am just going to think of it as an au, like I said. Not the real Holmes and Watson. Of course, the BBC's Holmes and Watson are nothing like Conan Doyle's Holmes and Watson. It looked fun, and I am all about the fun. Yes. Yes I am.
